Wedding planning by a chic and resourceful bride!

Hey kids! Sorry i've been MIA on my bloggie for a while. Things have been slow on the wedding creativity portion but I am now back in full effect! I just finished my very first DIY Pomander ball! YAY!! I am surprised at how easy and fun this project was! I am also surprised that I even considered using fake flowers! I have always been a real flower kind of gal but was inspired by other Project Wedding brides to give it a whirl. And boy am I glad I did! These photograph very well and you can't tell they are fake unless you get really close and peek through the flowers! Its a major relief because I can get these done way ahead of time and use them for the aisle chairs for my ceremony. So without further ado, here is the step by step rundown in case you'd like to give it a whirl! ;)
Materials needed: styrofoam ball (any size, the bigger the ball, the bigger the pomander!), tacky glue, silk flowers (I used silk carnations), a chopstick, wire cutter (or scissors if you're gangster)and silk ribbon.

1) First, grab the silk flower and cut about 75% of the wire stem. Leave only about this much.

2) Next make a hole on the styro ball using the end of the carnation. Dig it in deep so the plastic is touching the ball. Now take out the flower and fill it with tacky glue and then stick the flower in again all the way in. Repeat all the way around the ball until you've covered it completely.

3) Next, using the chopstick, stab the ball once as far down as you can creating a hole in which to stick the ribbon through. Then fill that whole with glue. Then wrap the chopstick with the ribbon and stick it inside the hole. Then slide out the chopstick and voila!

Make sure to let everything dry completely (at least 24 hours) before you attempt to hang your new gorgeous little pomander ball!
